The latest movie...what did you think?

For those that have seen HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX now in theaters, what did you think of the movie? Did you enjoy it? Did they leave too much information out? Was it too dark?

Harry Potter...not just for kids anymore!

With the newer books and movies taking a darker tone, do you think the latter entries in the series are still suitable for young readers or have the books and movies graduated into regular adult fiction?

Harry Potter prequel?

There is a rumor floating around that J.K. Rowling will eventually write at least one, possibly more, prequels to the Harry Potter series focusing on the school years of James Potter, Sirius Black, Remis Lupin, Peter Pettigrew, and Severus Snape. Do you think this is a good idea or should she leave well enough alone with the original seven books?

Are you an animagus?

Assuming you were able to transform yourself into any animal, and have the ability to be animagus, what would you like your animal to be? Professor McGonagall turned into a cat and Sirius Black became a dog...what would you become and why?

Who is your favorite Weasley?

The Weasleys are a fun bunch! Charlie trains dragons, Bill protects the bank, Fred and George own their own joke shop, Ron is Harry's sidekick, Ginny is in the Order helping fight he-who-must-not-be-named, Molly has been like a mother to Harry, and Arthur is a wizard fascinated with muggles! And then there is Percy...we won't discuss him!

Who is your favorite Weasley and why?

Is Harry related to Godric Gryffindor?

So...is Harry a part of a bigger family - the Gryffindors? He was sorted into Gryffindor at the very last minute...and his parents were killed in Godric's Hollow. Is Harry perhaps from a long line of wizards after all?

The D.A. wants you!

In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry and other Hogwarts students form a secret club called Dumbledore's Army, to practice their Defense Against the Dark Arts in hiding, away from Dolores Umbridge. Would you be brave enough to join the D.A., knowing that if you were caught, it would mean expullsion?

Quidditch anyone?

Do you think you would enjoy watching or playing the game of Quidditch? What position would you most want to play - Seeker, Keeper, Beater? Would you be a good Quidditch player or better at watching and cheering from the stands?

Who is RAB?

In book 6, Dumbledore lost his life trying to find a locket, perhaps one of Voldemort's horcruxes, that belonged to RAB. Who do you think RAB is and what do you think is behind the locket that everyone wants?

Sirius Black

Is Sirius really gone from us forever or will he make an appearance in book 7? Will his brother, Regulus, who is supposedly dead, affect the outcome of book 7? What are your thoughts on the Black brothers and the Black family in general?

Poor little Duddykins!

Do you have an opinion about what will happen to Dudley Dursley, if anything, in book 7? What do you think he saw when the dementor tormented him in the earlier book in the series?

The fate of Draco Malfoy!

What will happen to Draco in book 7? Do you have an opinion? Is he just a puppet for his father? Could he possibly end up helping Harry defeat Lord Voldemort or has he always been bad news and will continue to be so?

What do you think will happen with Neville in book 7? Do you think he will play a major role in the last book? Why do you think he was passed over by He-who-must-not-be-named in favor of Harry Potter in regards to the prophecy?

Hagrid has an unusual hobby in collecting out of the ordinary animals...which usually gets him into trouble. Will we ever see Norbert the dragon or Buckbeak the hippogriff again?

The fate of your favorite characters!

J.K. Rowling has stated publicly that two characters will die in the last novel in the Harry Potter series but that one character will get a reprieve (she meant to have this character perish but had a change of heart during a rewrite of the last chapter of the last book). Which characters do you think will die and who will survive the final novel?

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows LFPL Book Release Party!

The Main branch of the Louisville Free Public Library will be the place to be on Friday, July 20th. Starting at 9pm, the public is invited to celebrate the release of the last in the HP book series. A teen tri-wizard tournament, a midnight reading, a wizard ball, and book giveaways await us all! What/who will you dress up as for the big night?

What does the future hold for Harry?

If Harry Potter survives the series, what will Harry become when he grows up? Will he be an auror? Will he work for the Ministry of Magic? What are your thoughts?

There are many rumors about what the "deathly hallows" in the new title of book 7 could be? What do you think the "deathly hallows" are?

In book 6, we see Dumbledore strive to find a locket, one of Voldemort's horcruxes, only to die after he found an imitation. So where is the real locket hidden, what are the other horcruxes, how many are left to find, and why will they be important in the upcoming final book in the series?

Do you think Hogwarts will be open at the beginning of book 7? With Dumbledore gone, the school has lost its' beloved headmaster and dark days are approaching now that he-who-must-not-be-named has returned to power. Newsflash! Did you hear that the printing house that is printing to final volume in the Harry Potter series is printing the copies in the dark to keep up the shroud of secrecy? Do you think this is a good move on J.K. Rowling's part?

Back from the dead!

So....is Albus Dumbledore really no more? At the end of book 6, Severus Snape "killed" Dumbledore, sending Hogwarts students and the entire wizarding world into a deep depression. Is he really dead or is there something else going on that we don't know about? What do you think?

Did you hear the latest news? J.K. Rowling has put her stamp of approval on plans for a Harry Potter theme park based in Florida that will open by 2009! Would you plan a trip to visit this theme park? Do you think this is a good idea?
