I would turn into a seal. You can swim through the water with ease but still get to bask in the sun. Although I suppose it would present a problem if i wasn't near a body of water.
I know its copying, but i would turn into a cat. Cats are smart, sly, quiet, and stealthy, and have great night vision. Plus, they are small to fit in tight places, and can live anywhere. If i couldn't be a cat, i would be a lion, b/c they are strong and brave.
I would probably like to be some kind of small primate like a lemur or a cappuchin monkey. You can pretty much do anything a person can but you are also smaller so would have to eat less and could hide in tight spots more reaily.
I would definitely be a cat like McGonagall! They are very bright, energetic and able to be quite stealthy and hard to catch. :-)
